Mingara Park Cottage

Unwind in our luxury farm cottage in Scotsburn on the southern slopes of Mt Buninyong.

Mingara Park Cottage has been lovingly restored to provide a snug and cosy getaway. Sit and enjoy views of beautiful countryside, curl up and read by the stone fireplace, stroll along the farm lane to our lake and meet our friendly  goats or miniature belties along the way.

The cottage is ideal for a week working from your country office, a weekend away for two or to share with family or friends. The kitchen has all you need to cook up a storm but if you prefer the outdoors start up the baby webber, light the fire pit and sit out under the stars. The cottage sleeps five people and has two bathrooms and yes your pets are welcome.

Scotsburn is within 10 minutes of the many restaurants, cafes, antiques, parks, galleries, vineyards and golf courses our region has to offer.

Mingara park is on Wadawurrung Country. We acknowledge the Kulin nation, the traditional custodians of this beautiful land and pay our respects to the elders - past, present and emerging.

  • “Beautiful stay in Scotsburn and particularly enjoyable for dog owners. Beautiful new kitchen, spacious living and dining area and well-appointed rooms. The kitchen was well-stocked and we were greeted with freshly baked bread and a beautiful bottle of red. there's a huge outdoor fully fence areas for dogs to play and feel safe. The location is very close to Buninyong and 20 min from Ballarat. Lots of lovely walks around to enjoy this part of Victoria..

  • "We cannot rate Mingara Park highly enough - our first riparide experience and it was incredible! Wayne and Robyn were the most gracious and welcoming hosts, leaving us fresh eggs, bread, marmalade and even a bottle of wine on arrival and generally for making our stay so wonderful. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and impeccably clean with beautiful design touches and everything has been thought of, down to blankets for chilly nights and board games if it rains. The beds were so comfortable and it was genuinely a pleasure to be on the property; geese, goats and sheep wander around and the friendly horses say hi. Mini belted galloways in far off paddocks as the sun sets is a sight to behold! It is 20 minutes to Ballarat and there’s really heaps to see and do in the area. We even swam in the dam on a sweltering day, it was magical. We will most definitely return in the winter time for another stay and will recommend to our friends and family!"

  • Loved our stay at Mingara Park! We went with our dog and 2 year old, and the cottage had everything we needed. Beautiful location and Wayne and Robyn were perfect hosts, showing us the animals on the farm and taking our son on a tractor ride. We hope to stay again soon, perfect for a weekend getaway!   • It was a self-contained cottage with everything you need (freshly home-baked bread, eggs laid by chickens, fresh milk n butter). Cottage was very clean and had beautiful views of the mountain, lake and the paddocks with the cows, sheep, horses, goats, chicken n geese. It was also equipped with entertainment and Wifi, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it felt so much like home. We would have loved to stay longer, would definitely come back again

  • Such a peaceful and idyllic spot. We stayed for 4 nights with the aim of getting away from the city, staying on the property and relaxing with our Choc Labrador Apollo. Cooking, reading that sort of thing. It was perfect. The farm animals were amazing to watch, Wayne was a wonderful host, the kitchen amenities were impeccable and the beds and bedding was divine. We have high standards and this hit the mark. We will be going back.

  • We had a fantastic stay on the farm. The location and cottage were absolutely stunning and Wayne could not have been more accommodating as a host. He even gave our 18 month old a tour of the farm and a tractor ride! We were greeted with freshly baked bread and farm eggs and the cottage was superbly clean with beautiful views throughout. Would absolutely recommend for a weekend (or longer) away, only 90 mins from the city but we were immediately calmed by the relaxing atmosphere.

  • Mingara Park cottage was perhaps the greatest getaway we’ve had! Perfect for a change of pace, we ventured to Scotsburn as a family of four and here we were greeted with incredible views and a stillness that made us instantly relax. The house was so very comfortable with everything you could need. Beautiful linen sheets of the highest quality. The fire was cosy ambient. Wayne gave us the full farm experience, getting up close to the beautiful cows and witnessing some very hungry goats at feeding time. Our five-year-old loved visiting the animals each day. The town of Buninyong is really cute and has everything you need. That said, we spent most of our time at the cottage just spending time together and soaking up the best sunsets you’ll ever see. Mingara Park is a great place to reset. We can’t wait to come back!
